LEADERSHIP INITIATIVES AT VERMONT INSTITUTES

Leadership is one of the cross-cutting strategies of Vermont Institutes. We provide professional development, offer administrative retreats, and analyze systemic structures and conditions, often in partnership with other statewide organizations. We offer courses, workshops, seminars, institutes, and academies.

  • Our work addresses knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and individual and institutional behaviors.

  • Sustained relationships with individuals and systems are necessary if meaningful change is to take place and take hold.

  • The investment made in professional development brings greatest returns when it is set in a comprehensive, coordinated and long-term plan

Personal and Professional Support to School Leaders

Summer Leadership Academy

Held during the first week of August, the Academy offers opportunities for teams or individuals to come together to relax and learn. Extended strands offer in-depth exploration of key issues with time for networking and sharing.

Presented by a partnership between Vermont Institutes and the Vermont Consortium for School Leadership, the Vermont Principals’ Association, the Woodruff Institute for School Leadership, the Snelling Center for Government, the University of Vermont, VT-ASCD, and funded in part by the Regional Alliance for Mathematics and Science Education, the VT Business Roundtable, and the Gates Foundation
